Player-Owned, Player-First

The Captain & Company economy is player-owned & driven, with key resources obtainable in-game only and enabling larger collect -> create -> sell loops as an economic metagame.
There are five categories of economic assets inside of Captain & Company:

    Currencies
Each of these assets can exist either entirely inside of the game ("off-chain") or can be minted to the blockchain and traded ("on-chain"). Our core ethos for the game is to allow economic decisions to be at the player's choice, which means that you will always have the option, but not the obligation, to interact with blockchain-based economic systems.
For certain ships and cosmetics, a certain initial limited supply will be sold in an open market each time one is added to the game, but, be quick -- after that, the only way to obtain them will be to barter with other players or earn through in-game skill & dedication!
