Pillage (PvPvE)
Pillage is a PvPvE multiplayer instance where players battle it out in a two-faction persistent war that can last for days or weeks.
All players begin new Pillage wars on the same level ground, setting sail in a raft. Players can then collect resources by fishing up resource-laden fish, then craft those resources into bigger and better ships and perks, ultimately captaining their own brigs or sloops to help lead their faction to victory and claim the Warchest.
The war ends when one faction has captured all available Towers across all available server lobbies. Players capture Towers by moving their ships (except rafts and dinghies) in range of the tower. When there are more ships from one faction than another in range, control of the tower will begin to shift. Players earn Doubloons for each point tick they participate in during a capture or defense.
Rewards
When a war ends, the Warchest loot is split by way of:
50% to the top players on the winning faction side
25% to the top players on the losing faction side
15% to players who voted for the correct faction to win using their held $CNC weight
5% to landowners of the winning faction side
5% to idle port missions
The "top players" calculation dynamically adjusts based on how many ships have been crafted in the war. These amounts may be adjusted seasonally to find ratios that best incentivize player volume. Do not purchase digital assets using these numbers as a basis for investment.
Sinking & Extraction
When a player's ship is sunk in Pillage, 75% of their loot is dropped in a loot chest for other players to collect. The best way to escape with the highest quantity of loot is to find an extraction portal, located back at your faction's port island, where you can pull out 100% of what you've collected safely.
World Bosses
The world bosses in Pillage mode are extremely challenging, but very rewarding. You'll need to team up with your other faction mates to take down giant krakens, ogres, and more as you hunt for the rarest blueprints and loot!
Faction Voting
Players can vote on the outcome of the war by using their synced $CNC balance totals. If a player's vote is correct, they will receive portion of the Warchest rewards based on their pro rata share of the correct votes placed, weighted by how long they had committed to the vote. If a player is incorrect in their vote, there is no penalty, and no nuggies or $CNC are forfeited.
