10. Governance

Governance Rewards

Governance rewards are unique in that they do not require active gameplay, but rather engage players through idle strategy and macroeconomic mechanics. All Doubloons earned via Governance activities grant matching Event Currencies without requiring a Pirate Pass or Event Pass, but do not benefit from the pass-stacking multipliers players receive on their Piracy-earned doubloons.

Governance activities earn their Doubloons based on the total global Doubloons earned from Piracy (in-game) activities over the past 24 hours.

Because Governance rewards are pegged to the total global rewards earned in-game by other players, they will increase when players are highly active and decrease when players are less active.

Ports

The Ports Minigame is an idle strategy minigame where players send collectible Ship Cards out on the high seas to pillage for additional rewards, including Doubloons, Event Currencies, and sometimes items. You can currently access the Ports Minigame in your Captain and Company Profile page.

Token Staking

The $CNC Token is a community-issued ownership asset that can be staked to passively generate Doubloons and Event Currencies on capnco.gg. Lock periods may apply, and additional rewards for stakers may be considered at a future time.

Land

Land ownership is a complex end-game progression system that grants users ownership over a key element of the game economy. Land plots are crafted by combining land crystals. Each faction's main port island has a maximum of 1,000 land plots. There are two factions, for a total of 2,000 available land plots. Land Crystals are obtained from end-of-war rewards.

Active ownership over land can grant:

  • Player titles

  • Doubloons and Land Crystals

  • Guild titles

Land plots require maintenance to remain active and yield benefits. Maintenance is performed by adding land crystals to the maintenance panel at the Landsmith, where some amount are consumed daily to maintain your land automatically.

To receive benefits, land plots must remain active. Land plots that are not active on a given day will have their benefits disabled for that day. Rewards are distributed as Doubloons daily to land plot owners on the side that has more objective points.

If a land plot is not maintained by keeping the requisite amount of maintenance resources in the maintenance inventory menu, it becomes inactive and begins to degrade over a 72 hour period. After 72 hours of degradation, it will be automatically dissolved back into land crystals.

The Governor title is granted to the owner of the guild with the most land plots on an island. The Champion title is granted to the owner of the guild with the most enemy faction ships destroyed on behalf of that island.

The land system is highly experimental and likely to go through iterative adjustment in the future. Do not purchase land as an investment or with the intention to speculate on real cash value. This feature was inspired by Runescape's Managing Miscellania, and may be improved over time to incorporate more customization.
