# 9. Ship Customization

<mark style="color:orange;">**Ships**</mark> are fully custimizable vehicles that can host single or multiplayer crews out in either [Pillage](/game-guide/pillage-war-pvpve.md) or [Deathmatch](/game-guide/deathmatch-pvp.md) game modes. Players can collect and upgrade different sizes and classes of ships, as well as customize their cannons, ship paint colors, skins and more.

Players adjust ship customization at the loadout shack on the docks before entering a match.
