# 9. Ship Customization

<mark style="color:orange;">**Ships**</mark> are the vehicles that host single or multiplayer crews in either [Pillage](/game-guide/pillage-war-pvpve.md) or [Deathmatch](/game-guide/deathmatch-pvp.md) game modes.

Right now every player sails the <mark style="color:orange;">**Clockwork Brig**</mark>, the standard ship available to everyone. More ships, classes, and customization options are planned for the future.
