8. Ships

Ships are the vehicles that carry single or multiplayer crews in Pillage and Deathmatch.

What you sail

Every player is granted a Clockwork Brig on signup, and again at every war reset. It is the standard hull and it is what most of the fleet is sailing.

Two more are always available to everyone and never need to be earned:

• The raft, the smallest thing that floats.
• The dinghy, a step up from the raft. An active Pirate Pass grants one while it lasts.

A raft or a dinghy will carry you, fish, and get you back out after a bad run, but the hold is small. Cargo runs want a real hull.

Ownership

Ships are ordinary inventory items. They are not NFTs and do not need to be, and no ship is gated behind a purchase.
